The Alpha Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., partnered with local Divine Nine (D9) organizations, including the Northport Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Temporary Emergency Services of West Alabama, and WVUA 23, for its 2026 Annual Fan Drive on June 2, 2026. Through this collaborative effort, more than 100 fans were collected to help residents of West Tuscaloosa beat the summer heat.
The annual initiative reflects the chapter’s continued commitment to community service and addressing the needs of local residents, particularly during the hot summer months. By collecting more than 100 fans, the participating organizations helped provide practical support to individuals and families in West Tuscaloosa as temperatures rise.
For Rodney Pelt, Social Action Chair of the Alpha Tau Chapter, the Fan Drive represents the true meaning of Divine Nine unity and service.
“D9 is not just a shirt or a set of letters. It’s about giving back through service and showing love for your fellow man. That’s what true brotherhood and community service are all about,” said Pelt.
The participation of local D9 organizations, Temporary Emergency Services of West Alabama, and WVUA 23 demonstrates the impact of community partnerships in addressing local needs. By joining forces, these organizations helped support West Tuscaloosa residents through an initiative centered on care, compassion, and community well-being.
Guided by the cardinal principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift, the Alpha Tau Chapter continues to put the mission of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., into action through meaningful community outreach. The Annual Fan Drive exemplifies the importance of collaboration and the difference that can be made when organizations unite in service to others.
The Alpha Tau Chapter extends its sincere appreciation to the Northport Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., its fellow local D9 partners, Temporary Emergency Services of West Alabama, WVUA 23, and everyone who contributed to this year’s drive. Through continued partnership and service, the chapter remains committed to uplifting West Tuscaloosa and making a meaningful difference in the lives of its residents.
