The Alpha Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. closed its 2025 Achievement Week with a Community Thanksgiving event that embodied the true purpose of this important observance. Achievement Week is far more than recognition or ceremony; it is a dedicated time to honor excellence, uplift the community, and demonstrate through meaningful action the fraternity’s commitment to service, scholarship, and brotherhood.
In a period marked by national uncertainty, social division, and economic challenges affecting families across the country, Alpha Tau’s choice to end the week with a significant community service initiative carried deep relevance. The chapter’s efforts served as a reminder that unity and compassion remain powerful forces in difficult times.
Supported by a strong network of partners including Diamonds SSC, Royal Divas, MOB, A Touch of Color, Northport Angels, TRU Brothers, Elite Men & Women – Northport, MyStique SSC, Darden & Cook #28 – Heroines of Jericho, G.O.T., Big Dogs, Black Royal Aces, Shown 1K, and MCW1, the chapter delivered a warm and uplifting Thanksgiving experience to the Tuscaloosa and Northport communities.
Through this collective effort, 545 plates were served, providing meaningful support to more than 250 families. Volunteers from each organization worked side by side, creating a welcoming atmosphere grounded in dignity, gratitude, and fellowship.
Reflecting on the significance of the day, Brother Stanley Chambley, Basileus of the Alpha Tau Chapter, stated, “In times like these, service isn’t just important; it’s necessary. Today we showed what our community can accomplish when we stand together, and that’s what Achievement Week is truly about.”
The event served as a clear reminder that Achievement Week is not simply a celebration of accomplishments. It is a call to purposeful action, service that strengthens families, builds trust, and draws communities together when unity is most essential.
