The Alpha Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was honored to support the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner presented by Tuscaloosa-based Soul Out Restaurant and Flavaz Restaurant. Hosted by Tuscaloosa’s own comedian Tameka Carey, the event brought together families, volunteers, and community partners for a day centered on service and fellowship.
Brothers worked side by side with local volunteers and organizations to prepare and serve meals, greet families, and help create an atmosphere of welcome for all who attended. The gathering offered far more than food. It fostered connection, conversation, and a renewed sense of unity.

Brother Rodney Pelt captured the sentiment of the day, stating, “It fills me with joy to give back to the community that has given me so much. Together, we shared meals, laughter, and a sense of togetherness that reminds us all of the importance of lifting each other up.”
Serving a community that continually supports and embraces our chapter is both humbling and inspiring. Moments like these reaffirm the impact we can make when we stand together with purpose and compassion.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Soul Out Restaurant, Flavaz Restaurant, comedian Tameka Carey, every partner organization, and all volunteers and community members who contributed to the success of this year’s dinner. Alpha Tau remains committed to service and to strengthening the community we proudly call home.
Together, we look forward to continuing this work, today and every day.
